The Equipment:
One of the most important items for a wildlife photographer is a quiet approach and a steady platform.
The SeaPro boat is twenty-three feet long with an eight and a half foot beam - making for a very steady platform.
Powered by a Yamaha four stroke engine your approach will be quiet and free of the smokey oils burnt by most outboards.
A new invention called a Power Pole Shallow Water Anchoring System is used to anchor up after the aproach to the photo opportunity has been made. This system operates hydraulically with the push of a button. A spike goes into the bottom holding the boat steady - no noisy anchor and chain to disturb wildlife.
A two person tower is above on the T-top, this opens several photo opportunities. Dolphins and manatees can be photographed from above for a different affect. Birds nesting in the mangroves can be photographed at eye level or above for great shots into the nests.
Captain Terry Frankford:
Captain Terry Frankford has been exploring and fishing the local area waters for over thirty years. He is a licensed and insured U.S.C.G. Captain. Capt. Terry is an amateur photographer and enjoys the abundant wildlife our area has to offer. However his experience at locating great photo opportunities comes not only from personal experience. Capt. Terry has chartered professional photographers and instructors with students aboard. This has given him first hand knowledge to put photographers from amateur to professional in the right place at the right time.
