Many species are also caught in Central Florida waters. Tarpon give the best angler a great fight in the summer months. Pompano, sheepshead, and mangrove snapper are found in our bays and make for great table food. Bluefish, mackerel, and crevalle jack are screamers on light tackle. Ladyfish make for great action jumping several times before coming to the boat - also known as "poor mans tarpon". |
 | Redfish - Sciaenops ocellatus John caught and released this redfish (red drum) - redfish are known for their great food value and have become the targeted fish of professional tournaments along the Gulf Coast. Redfish are an inshore species until they reach roughly thirty-two inches - then they migrate to nearshore reefs where they live and spawn.
